FAQ

What is the layout of the house?
Downstairs Floorplan:

Downstairs at Aberafon offers the perfect open plan living space, seamlessly blending modern comforts with practicality so that you can focus on enjoying your holiday.  With hard flooring throughout , you’ll enter from the porch into the contemporary kitchen which adjoins the dining area and lounge.  The spacious dining and living area offer ample seating, perfect for enjoying a family meal or relaxing by the log burner.

Off the kitchen you’ll discover a practical utility area featuring a washer/dryer, ceiling airer, and an additional fridge freezer.  This leads to a stylish wet room adding a touch of convenience and luxury to your stay.

Upstairs Floorplan:

Upstairs, the layout is split over two levels.  At the front of the house, you’ll find three charming double bedrooms, one of which serves as a through-room to the end double room.  Between these two rooms, there’s a step and a sliding barn door adding to the rustic charm.  The through room also features a single futon bed, ideal for families or larger groups.

At the back of the house upstairs, you’ll find a cozy twin room with a family bathroom which can be accessed directly from outside-perfect for a quick shower after being on the beach.  An additional outdoor shower just outside makes it easy to rinse off the sand before heading inside.
Is the house suitable if I have mobility issues?

Due to the age and location of the house there are several quirky steps both inside and outside which means that Aberafon may not be best suited to everyone with mobility issues.  The house is sadly not wheelchair friendly. If you have any specific requirements or wish to check anything beforehand, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Are there any additional car parking options nearby?

Aberafon has private parking for two medium sized cars right next to the house which has an EV charger. If additional parking space is required, there is free street parking opposite the house which is on a first come, first served basis. Also, there is a free car park at the  top of the village (on the road between Llangrannog and Brynhoffnant).

What are the nearby grocery shopping options?

Outside the village itself , there is a lovely farm shop which you may like to try which offers free delivery to Aberafon.  Please visit their website or give them a call to find out more https://farmgatellangrannog.co.uk/

Alternatively, Tescos deliver to Llangrannog, or there are Tesco and Aldi stores a short drive away in Cardigan.

Hoffnant Garage and Convenience store, located just a few miles away, has a great selection of food www.londis.co.uk/our-stores/hoffnant-garage
Is Aberafon dog friendly?
Well behaved dogs are always very welcome at Aberafon, and stay free of charge. There are dog bowls provided, along with towels and a throw for your dog. Please bring your dog(s) bedding.

There is a warm dog shower outside at the rear of the house.

If your dog is used to joining you on the sofa, we ask that you use the throw provided to cover the sofas and to please ensure that the sofas are free from hairs and are clean when you leave.

Please ensure that any dogs remain downstairs but are never left alone in the house.

If you have more than 2 dogs, please contact us prior to booking.

Is Aberafon secure for dogs?

Aberafon has two enclosed courtyards at the front of the house and a patio area with enclosed fencing which overlooks the beach. If you have energetic or curious dogs, it will not be impossible for them to jump the walls or the fence. As such, we encourage guests to be with their dogs outside or to use a lead to secure them.

Are there nearby beaches dog friendly?
Yes. Not only will you have the stunning coastal path literally on the doorstep, there are two all year dog friendly beaches in Llangrannog with plenty more dotted around the Cardigan Bay coastline.

Llangrannog has two beaches. The Village beach and Cilborth beach. The Village beach is fully dog friendly from 30th September to 1st May. Between May and September, the right side of the village beach (right of the river which flows onto the beach) is dog friendly. This section of the beach is directly adjacent to the adjacent Cilborth beach which is just as beautiful and accessible for dogs all year.
What time is check-in and check out?

Check in to the house and parking is at 4:00pm on your arrival day, with check out of both house and parking at 10:00am.

Is Aberafon decorated at Christmas?
